No surfer that I knew was ever turned off from surfing, even after
watching Jaws and its sequels. Even in Southern California, the water
temps weren't warm enough (70F max) to bring great whites there. Although,
the San Onofre nuke power plant had plenty of them hanging around those
waters (off the coast, just north of Camp Pendelton - Marine corps
training base). In fact, the Marines practiced their beach landings
just north of Oceanside and they were more frightening than the sharks,
with the artillery fireing and explosions heard all the way to my place in

the contaminated fish caught in San Diego bay, with all of the Navy
pollution from years of dumping stuff overboard before the EPA made them
stop.

One of my favorite actors has been Robert Duvall from his early work when
he had hair. As he's matured, he's gotten to be one of the best actors in
pictures.

As for Martin Sheen, he played the perfect part for him in The Execution
of Private Slovik (1974), in the movie where they ended up shooting him
for disertion in the line of fire (WW2). I suspect that coward is his real
nature as he's been kicked in the head too many times by the police when
they've had to remove him from the gates of San Onofre. Of course, that
has also affected his offspring, as can be witnessed by the 'frightening'
look in the eyes of Emillo Estavez...and the stupid acting of Charlie
Sheen. And what pisses me off is that he's two days older than I am. He
doesn't deserve to be a Leo, he isn't one by nature.

As for Harrison Ford, well, his best role was as the Captain of the
Millenium Falcon, in Star Wars. Next best, was as Bob Falfa, the crazy
driver of the fast and now famous black 55 Chevy, in American Graffitti.
Not much he's done since, save for the Star Wars series, has ever given me
the impression that he's a good actor. Although he's got good facial
expressions that make up for his lack of acting skills.
