I dunno, I've never thought of it and don't know anyone who has tried.
Dad's gone now, so my source of info like that has dried up...

Off the coast of San Diego they have jelly fish that during the summer
especially, will give you a really bad time if you get stung by one.
I thank my lucky stars for wet suits...

I have a GMC box van, 14,000lb commercial variety, that I parked at the
curb while my storage unit was being renovated. The neighbors were a bit
upset until I explained that one to them. That was only supposed to last
two months, but they decided to expand their facility at the same time, so
it took three months before I could talk them into making room.

I had neither. The agent charged 10% and did absolutely nothing to make
them clean up the place. They even gave them back their cleaning deposit.
If I hadn't been in the middle of a sale, I would have sued them both.

I was a little reluctant to approve the people who finally did rent it. A
white gal and a black guy. He had good credentials, being the manager of
an apartment complex for 5 years. She had a good income, so I figured they
wouldn't have a problem keeping up with the rent. Nancy warned about
renting to a non-married couple, but I 'knew' better, if you know what I
mean.

I had those before they moved in. I even furnished them with a Washer and
Dryer along with some patio furniture and a frig. If I were buying the
house, I would have tossed the frig, as it was full of black mold when I
saw it last. The washer and dryer were in good shape though. And of
course, the patio furniture vanished.

I had put a new roof on my house in February of last year, before I moved
to Texas. I also had the house painted, inside and out and when the
painters were done, I had the carpets super steam cleaned. The garage door
opener had a gliche in it that required some expertise and so I had
somebody look at it and they said they fixed it. It didn't work when I was
there. The rental agents had their own 'handymen' to fix things, but those
jerks wanted $80/hr. So I had a friend of mine (who's in the handiman
business) go over and replace both faucets at the washer when the tenant
complained that they leaked. They leaked the day we moved into that house,
but all that was required to stop that was to back off the faucet a bit,
to allow the stem to float in the seal, stopping the seppage. My friend
was cool, he just said to buy him dinner the next time I was in town. So,
I bought him dinner and a few beers when I was there in November.

So I've been told. Army food isn't that great either, but they put on a
good feed, when they're in camp. It must have been a good thing, as my
brother shot up past me an inch when they fed him.

Short for H.E. Butt Company, I don't blame the guy for just calling it
HEB. :o) The nice thing is, they're just up the street from Wal-Mart and
their gas is priced within pennys. A couple of weeks ago, they started to
give you $5 off a tank of gas if you bought a certain amount of groceries
from them.

Move back to San Diego, Mira Mesa especially and you'll have all the Asian
food you can eat. All of the super markets but VONS and Alpha-Beta has
vacated their stores, only to have the Chinese move in. Heh, next to
Domino's Pizza, there is a mom and pop Chinese food store. And, most
restaurants serve chinese or go out of business. BTW, one of the next
door neighbors to my house in MM was a Mexican/Japanese couple. She is so
nice and he is from Texas. They met while he was stationed in Japan.
They're retired now, although he has a part time federal job.

Reading your comments in the COOKING echo, I gather that you're more
experienced in that than most. I've thrown things together and have had
some very good luck with it and so has Nancy. But yours reads like your
cooking talent comes naturally. Ours is learned.
