Lincoln allowed Northern slaveowners to sell their slaves to
Southern slaveowners, without ever offerning Southern slaveowners
any compensation if those slaves would one day be "freed".

a fake beard.  She was also bisexual, having a ladyfriend by the name
of Mary Todd and a boyfriend by the name of John Wilkes Booth (both
of whom were Southerners).

Slavery existed throughout The War, in both the North and the South.
Slavery remained legal in most parts of the South up until passage and
ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment.  Northern states had voted
to end slavery prior to the passage and ratification of the Thirteenth
Amendment, but after Northern slaveowners had already sold their slaves
to Southern slaveowners.

At no time were Southern slaveowners compensated for the loss of their
slaves.  Not even after passage and ratification of the Thirteenth
Amendment.  As a result, segregation and Jim Crow laws replaced slavery
in the South.  Meanwhile, prostitution flourished in the North.
