Ärende: Nomination

Hello Vince,

On Friday March 21 2008 13:06, you wrote to me:

30 is the maximum number. The minumum number is 7 and we are well past that.
With the very much reduced FidoNet we have today, I see no reason to strive for
the maximum.

FidoNet is not and never was a democracy and for the present task at hand the
present number of around 15 is more than enough.

I am aware of how you landed in the RC25 chair.

If there are so few left there is the option of asking the ZC to disband te
region and move what remains to another region or have them listed in the Z2
fall back net 550.

In the past we had severel occasions where the FTSC and the *C's stood at
opposite ends. This can happoen again and then you will put yourself in a
postion of having to choose between loyalties. This already happened when one
of our members was hoisted into a ZC chair.

VC> And as soneone else pointed out the rate of shrinkage of the fido

Concerning the FTSC we have not reached that point yet. We are well over the
mimimum required number of members by a comfortable 3 dB margin and with the
shrinkage of FidoNet there is not all that much to be done any more. We are not
understaffed.

VC> Also When you called for nominee's you did not specify who was'n't

I do not make the rules, I merely carry them out. It is however pretty clear to
me that the rule makers did not foresee this situation. It is clear to me that
the tacit assumption was that the ones voting and the ones to be voted in would
not overlap.

The rules are laid down in FTA-1001. You can view it at www.ftsc.org

VC> Almost forgot, all candidates can vote, therefore all that stand can

 VC> every where else.

Not in *this* election. Only RCs and RECs may vote. So you will be the only
candidate that can vote for himself. Not only that, you can issue a "no" vote
against each of the other candidates.

VC> This does not create an 'undue advantage' over others as the
VC> persentages are exactly the same.

Not so, you will not be in the same position as the other candidates. Again: I
do not make the rules, I just carry them out.

Cheers, Michiel
